Tripoli – Libyan Airlines has denied reports in a local newspaper claiming one of its aircraft in Egypt has been sold. The company stressed that there is no decision or intention to sell or scrap any aircraft from its fleet, either inside or outside Libya.

The airline said its current priorities are to maintain its assets and return grounded planes to service. This will help improve the readiness of the national carrier’s fleet and boost its operational capacity to serve passengers.

Libyan Airlines confirmed that it has begun legal action regarding the information and claims in the report, which it described as inaccurate and damaging to the company and its finances. The company noted it has previously taken similar legal steps against those spreading what it called rumors and false news about its operations.

The company urged media outlets and social media users to verify any information about Libyan Airlines with its official media office and spokesperson before publishing or sharing it. The statement reiterated that the airline’s doors are open to the media, and that all official information about its activities is released through approved channels.
