The Minot High Magicians and the Minot North Sentinels met on Thursday night, September 17, for the second time this season in a rematch at Sentinels Stadium.

Last time the two teams played, both the Magi and the Sentinels were unbeaten, but at the end of a contentious 80 minutes, the Magi came out on top, breaking the Sentinels’ streak.

For their second game, the Magi walked into the stadium as the Western Dakota Association leaders, with their still unbeaten record of 6-0-2. The Sentinels entered Thursday night with a 4-4-1 season record.Having won just one game of their last five, the Sentinels were looking to turn their luck around as they readied to face off against the Magi.

Though the first half of Thursday’s game was scoreless and the Sentinels were the first to strike with a goal early in the second half, their luck soon ran out.

The Magi stormed through the rest of the second half, scoring five unanswered goals before the final whistle blew.

With the Magicians’ 5-1 victory over the Sentinels, they improved on their unbeaten record to 7-0-2 on the season.

The Sentinels’ loss gave them their first losing record for the season at 4-5-1 as their loss streak extends to three straight games.

The Magi will be back at home for their next match as they take on the Legacy High School Sabers on Thursday, September 19.

The Sentinels will stay home for their next game, facing off against the Bismarck High Demons the same night.
