Citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic who were officially employed in South Korea—and from whose wages pension contributions were deducted—receive lump-sum payments upon returning to their home country.
According to the Social Fund, 151 individuals have so far applied for receiving a lump-sum payout of their accumulated pension funds from the National Pension Service of the Republic of Korea. Of these, 126 citizens have already been approved for and received payment, while 25 are awaiting a decision.
The average lump-sum payment amounted to $3,789.
