London – Libyan Central Bank Governor Nagy Issa held a wide-ranging meeting in London with representatives of major international and Arab financial institutions and banks. The gathering was attended by the Union of Arab Banks and focused on expanding banking and financial cooperation.

Participants included Qatar National Bank, Bank of New York Mellon, Morgan Stanley, Arab Banking Corporation, Arab British Commercial Bank, and Turkey İş Bank. Issa reviewed the Central Bank’s ongoing efforts to reform and modernize the banking sector. He highlighted initiatives to strengthen monetary and financial stability, update the payments and instant transfers infrastructure, and launch the “Instant Salary” project.

The meeting also discussed ways to boost correspondent banking channels, update governance, compliance, and risk management frameworks, and exchange expertise in financial technology. The aim is to increase the Libyan banking sector’s openness to global institutions and improve the country’s business environment.
