Brunei’s creative community will have a new platform to connect, showcase their work and collaborate through Kreative Fest 2027, a major five-day celebration planned for next year.
Initiated by Legasiworks Events & Media, the festival will bring together artists, performers, creators, event organisers, makers, creative businesses and communities across the country.
Ahead of the main festival, the Kreative Fest Tour will begin in November, travelling to different parts of Brunei to provide smaller and more accessible platforms for creatives to perform, showcase their work, collaborate and reach new audiences.
The initiative was introduced during an Open Briefing held on September 12 at Dewan Di-Gadong, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, which brought together 80 members of Brunei’s creative community, including artists, performers, event organisers, potential collaborators, industry stakeholders and media representatives.
The briefing also sparked discussions among event organisers and creatives from different fields, with several participants beginning to explore potential collaborations for the first Tour and beyond.
Regular gatherings are expected to be held to allow event organisers and creatives to present ideas, explore programmes and identify opportunities for collaboration. The first Event Organisers’ Gathering is tentatively scheduled for September 19, 2026.
The first Kreative Fest Tour is proposed to take place at Brunei Shell Recreation Club in Seria from November 26 to 29, followed by Kuala Belait from December 17 to 20 and The Core, Universiti Brunei Darussalam from January 14 to 17, 2027. A Tutong edition is also being planned.

Each stop is expected to feature a mix of live performances, creative markets, workshops, competitions, family activities, food and community experiences, with programmes adapted according to the location and participating communities.
According to Legasiworks Events & Media founder Rohaya Arun, the initiative is intended to create opportunities for different parts of Brunei’s creative community to come together.
“Kreative Fest is not about Legasiworks creating everything ourselves,” she said. “We want event organisers to bring their programmes. We want artists to showcase their work. We want performers to take the stage, and we want creative businesses to connect with new audiences.”
The Tour will also serve as a platform to discover new talent, encourage collaborations, reach different audiences and strengthen connections across Brunei’s creative community.
As part of the initiative, registrations of interest are now open to individuals, groups and organisations wishing to participate.
Event organisers and community groups are invited to propose programmes, activities and collaborations, while singers, musicians, bands, dancers, actors, comedians, filmmakers, photographers, designers, illustrators, content creators, makers and other creative talents are encouraged to register their interest to perform or showcase their work.
Local vendors, MSMEs and creative businesses will also have opportunities to participate through creative marketplaces and other activations throughout the Tour.
The open call is aimed at both established and emerging creatives, including those who may not have had opportunities to showcase their work on larger public platforms.
“Part of the purpose of Kreative Fest is to discover who else is out there. There may be talented people creating within smaller communities who simply need an opportunity to be seen, heard or connected to the right people,” Rohaya said.

Beyond the individual events, Kreative Fest 2027 aims to strengthen connections between creatives, businesses, event organisers, venues, communities and other stakeholders involved in Brunei’s creative ecosystem.
The initiative comes as Brunei prepares to welcome Visit Brunei Year 2027, providing further opportunities to showcase local creativity, talent, products and experiences to wider audiences.
The organisers said the journey towards 2027 is intended to be shaped by the wider creative community, rather than a single organisation.
“2027 is the vision. We start now. And we want Brunei’s creative community to build it with us,” Rohaya concluded.
