KEPT BLAMELESS UNTIL HE COMES

1Thessalonians 5:23b “May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Paul continues his prayer by asking that the Thessalonians would be kept blameless until Jesus returns.

When Paul speaks of their “whole spirit, soul and body,” he emphasises the whole person. Every part of our lives belongs to God. Our thoughts, desires, words, relationships, behaviour, and even what we do when nobody else is watching should increasingly reflect Christ.

Being “blameless” doesn’t mean reaching sinless perfection. Our acceptance before God rests on Christ, not our ability to live perfectly. But the grace that saves us also changes us. As we grow in Christ, there should be no area of our lives where we say, “God can have everything except this.”

Paul connects this with the return of Jesus. We don’t prepare for Christ’s coming by calculating dates, searching for prophetic clues, or living in fear. WE PREPARE FOR JESUS’ RETURN BY FAITHFULLY FOLLOWING HIM TODAY.

So ask yourself: Is there any part of my life that I still need to surrender to Him? Jesus is coming again. Until He does, may every part of our lives increasingly belong to Him.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that my whole life belongs to You. Show me anything that does not please You and give me the humility to repent and change. Keep me growing in holiness and faithfully following Jesus as I look forward to His return. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
