Here are the best-known names among the 250 candidates on the Students’ List. Among them are doctors, academics, former sporting greats, artists, professionals, and activists. In almost all cases, they share the characteristic of never having previously been involved in any political party.
The candidates are indicated by the number under which they appear on the list. In Serbia, voting takes place using a single nationwide constituency and without preference votes, meaning that seats in the National Assembly will be distributed based on the percentage of the nationwide vote, net of the representation reserved for national minorities. The lists bring their representatives into the National Assembly starting from the top of the list.
Ilija Srdanović
1. Ilija Srdanović — lead candidate. Cardiologist, born in Vrbas in 1970, at the Institute for Cardiovascular Diseases of Vojvodina in Sremska Kamenica since 1997, and since 2025 full professor at the Faculty of Medicine in Novi Sad. He has supported the student protests from the beginning; in March 2025, he was summoned by the police after giving a speech in front of the Faculty of Medicine.
Željko Hubač
3. Željko Hubač — dramatist, one of the most performed playwrights in Serbia and long-time artistic director of theatre festivals.
8. Tihomir Stanić — actor, historic face of Serbian cinema and TV, known for roles in historical productions and for his public positions critical of those in power.
12. Aleksandar N. Nešković — cardiologist, professor at the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade and long-time head of cardiology at KBC Zemun, one of the country’s best-known doctors.
15. Slobodan Vukosavić — professor at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade, SANU academic, specialist in electric drives and energy systems.
16. Marija Vulović — university professor.
Zlatko Kokanović
17. Zlatko Kokanović — activist for the “Ne damo Jadar” association, farmer from Gornje Nedeljice and the face of the battle against Rio Tinto’s lithium project in the Jadar Valley.
Dejan Bodiroga
24. Dejan Bodiroga — born in Zrenjanin in 1973, one of the greatest European basketball players of all time: three-time EuroLeague champion, he has played in Italy (Trieste, Olimpia Milano, Virtus Roma), Real Madrid, Panathinaikos and Barcelona. Since June 2022, he has been president of the EuroLeague. He publicly came to the defence of the students at the Slavija rally in 2025, drawing attacks from pro-government media and Vučić himself.
27. Dejan Šoškić — born in Belgrade in 1967, full professor of economics at the University of Belgrade, governor of the National Bank of Serbia from 2010 to 2012. He resigned in August 2012 in protest against amendments to the law on the NBS which, in his view, undermined the independence of the central bank.
Sanja Fric
40. Sanja Fric — lecturer at the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Belgrade, one of the technical voices on infrastructure and construction safety.
48. Feđa Dimović — musician, member of the hip hop group Beogradski sindikat, a very popular formation known for its lyrics with a strong civic and patriotic imprint.
55. Marija Maruna — urban planner.
58. Zoran Đajić — geological engineer, one of the most cited experts in the public debate on mines, groundwater and the Jadar project.
60. Sanela Ramadanović — entrepreneur from Sandžak.
Jovo Bakić
76. Jovo Bakić — sociologist and university professor at the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade, scholar of nationalism and populism, for years one of the government’s most direct critics.
87. Aleksandar Baucal — psychologist and university professor, one of Serbia’s foremost experts on educational assessment (PISA) and educational policies.
90. Mirjana Nikolić — rector of the University of Arts in Belgrade.
91. Radomir Saičić — academic, organic chemist at the Faculty of Chemistry in Belgrade and member of SANU.
103. Slobodan Bubnjević — science journalist, Centre for the Promotion of Science.
108. Mario Reljanović — jurist and labour law researcher at the Institute of Comparative Law, highly followed commentator on labour and the rule of law.
110. Sarah El Sarag — lawyer, active in the legal defence of protesters and students.
115. Slobodan Savić — forensic scientist.
120. Dragan Milićev — computer science, Faculty of Electrical Engineering.
121. Zoran Stojiljković — professor at the Faculty of Political Science, political scientist, expert on trade unions, parties and corruption.
122. Dragan “Gagi” Jovanović — very popular actor, comedy and theatre face; he personally confirmed his presence on the list to Danas and was among the most active in collecting signatures in Zemun. He is married to the actress Branka Pujić.
155. Emilija Marković and 156. Saša Trailović — university professors.
178. Mihail Dudaš — former national decathlete, Olympic finalist, from Novi Sad.
182. Dejan Đokić — historian.
184. Galjina Ognjanov — marketing, Faculty of Economics.
192. Mirko Poledica — president of the professional footballers’ trade union “Nezavisnost”, for years the voice of sporting trade unionism.
204. Nikola Vujčić — German language teacher.
The list features a visible minority component: from Sandžak, Adem Mavrić (6), Mirza Ramusović (38), Sanela Ramadanović (60); from Vojvodina, Hungarians and Slovaks such as Imre Krizmanić, Tibor Lazar, Igor Cegledi, Andrea Besedeš Nađ, Paljo Sampor.
In recent months, versions of the list circulated with much more high-profile names — University of Belgrade Rector Vladan Đokić, former prosecutor Jasmina Paunović, Professor Milo Lompar, footballer Nemanja Vidić, actress Vida Ognjenović. They were all subjected to a “veto” in the plenums and do not appear on the final list.
