Students invite citizens to hand in signatures together to the SECSerbian Monitor

Students have invited citizens to join them on Monday, 14th September, in handing over the signatures for the Student List – Students Win electoral list to the State Election Commission (SEC) for the snap elections on 25th October.

The gathering will take place at 17:00 outside the Rectorate of the University of Belgrade, from where they will march to the SEC building.

“We will carry the signatures together, because this is a shared struggle, just as the victory will be. See you outside the Rectorate of the University of Belgrade on 14th September at 17:00,” the students stated in a post on the social network X.

As a reminder, signatures for contesting the snap parliamentary elections have so far been submitted by the Serbian Progressive Party and the Socialist Party of Serbia.

So far, the SEC has only proclaimed the electoral list “Aleksandar Vučić – United Serbia”.

Earlier today, the Bureau for Social Research (BIRODI) announced that it had submitted a request to the State Election Commission to refuse the proclamation of the “Aleksandar Vučić – United Serbia” electoral list if it determines that the list, its title, documentation, or manner of presentation do not meet the conditions stipulated by law.
