Jean Marc Lamoureux
White River Jct., VT – Jean Marc Lamoureux, 80, of White River Junction, Vermont passed away peacefully while surrounded by loved ones on the evening of Tuesday, September 8th, 2026, at the VA Medical Center in White River Junction, Vermont after a brief battle with cancer.
Jean was born on April 17th, 1946, in Sherbrook, Quebec, to Lucienne Dube and Reginald Lamoureux. After growing up and working on the family farm in West Charleston, Vermont, he enlisted in the army, serving in Vietnam from 1968-1969. Married in 1972, he and his young family lived throughout northern Vermont. Then settling in Wilder, Vermont in 1979, where he began to invest in local real estate rentals and the Wilder Community Care Home. He also began his own excavation business, JML Enterprise.
Hunting, gardening, sugaring, snowmobiling, and driving around in his Jeep were among the many activities that brought him joy as an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed getting coffee with friends and was a regular over the years at many local establishments, sometimes with a grandchild or two in tow. One of Jean’s greatest joys was being a grandfather.
Jean was predeceased by an infant daughter, Crystal. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Suzanne, and his children, Shawn Lamoureux and his wife Amanda, and his daughter Victoria Bassick and her husband Rob; His grandchildren Amanda Gilchrist, Amelia Gilchrist, Erin Gilchrist, Grayson Lamoureux, Eli Lamoureux, and Lucien Lamoureux; and all of his siblings: Guy, Donald, Aline, Claire, Lucien, and Susan.
A visitation will take place from 4-6 pm on Monday, September 14th, 2026 at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction, Vermont. A service celebrating Jean’s life will begin at 5 pm.
