The Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots will open the 2026 NFL season tonight with a rematch of Super Bowl LX.

Super Bowl rematch
Tonight’s opener will also serve as a rematch of last year’s Super Bowl, which the Seahawks won, 29-13. Running back Kenneth Walker III was named MVP of the game, but he has since signed with the Kansas City Chiefs.
The NFL is back
In addition to being a Super Bowl rematch, tonight’s matchup also marks the official start to the 2026 season, despite being an uncharacteristic Wednesday night game. It will be followed by a contest between the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams in Australia on Thursday and then the regular all-day Sunday and Monday night slate.
