Jakarta, IO – Indonesian Defense Minister (MoD) Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin and Sudanese Defense Minister H.E. Lt. Gen. Hassan Daoud Kabroun Kayan inspected an honor guard during the latter’s visit to the Ministry of Defense in Jakarta on Wednesday (Sept. 9). The visit aims to strengthen bilateral relations and defense cooperation between Indonesia and Sudan.
The Sudanese defense minister was welcomed by Sjafrie at the ceremonial field. The welcoming ceremony began with an official salute and the playing of the Indonesian and Sudanese national anthems. After the ceremony, the two ministers inspected the honor guard. Sjafrie and Hassan Daoud then paid tribute to the heroes at the Ministry of Defense’s Sacred Fire area before continuing with a closed-door bilateral meeting.

The meeting discussed efforts to strengthen relations and defense cooperation between Indonesia and Sudan. The Ministry of Defense hopes cooperation between the two countries can expand and benefit both sides. Previously, Sjafrie received a courtesy visit from Sudanese Ambassador to Indonesia Yassir Mohamed Ali. The meeting discussed opportunities to enhance cooperation in defense and military technology, including human resource development through joint military education and training.
