The Central Commission for Elections and Referendums of Kyrgyzstan (CEC) amended its resolution of July 28, 2025, No. 41, «On Approval of the Regulations on Managing the Schemes and Boundaries of Electoral Districts and Polling Stations.»

Under the approved regulations, the maximum number of voters at a single polling station has been increased from 3,000 to 4,000.

The measure is intended to reduce the need to open new polling stations due to a shortage of buildings that meet the established requirements, ensure more efficient use of material, technical and financial resources, and optimize organizational and staffing costs.

In addition, amid population growth and increasing building density, local government bodies will have greater flexibility in determining polling station boundaries.
