SCCA Solo National Championships begin today at Lincoln Airport

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Tire Rack Sports Car Club of America Solo National Championship has officially started at Lincoln Airport (LNK), marking the 50th year of the event.

Competitors began training today at the airport in preparation for tomorrow. More than 1,200 participants will be racing this week.

“I’m looking forward to having fun with woman who really like to drive,” Amy Houseal, autocross competitor, said. “Really connecting with people I haven’t seen since last year solo nationals and having a lot of fun and hopefully winning the actual championship. That would be cool too.”

The grand champions will be decided on Sept. 11.
