TWO people have died and three others sustained serious injuries in three separate road traffic accidents recorded in Southern, Central and Copperbelt provinces, police have confirmed.
Zambia Police Service Public Relations Officer Godfrey Chilabi said in a statement seen by Mwebantu.
In Namwala on Sept 5, an 11-month-old, Lyon Mweene, died and two adults were injured when a Honda Fit overturned due to alleged speeding.
In Chibombo also on Sept 5, pedestrian Derick Ngulube, 24, was killed in a hit-and-run by a white light truck. The driver is still being sought.
In Kitwe on Sept 4, four Volvo trucks were involved in a crash near Zamtan. One driver, Benson Banda, 28, was seriously injured.
Police have urged motorists to obey speed limits and avoid reckless driving.
