Former MISA Lesotho chairperson and human rights activist Kananelo Boloetse was allegedly abducted from his home in Katlehong yesterday night and assaulted by unknown assailants before he was dumped at Thaba Bosiu.
Boloetse was reportedly driven away by three menat around 7pm. Questions put to him during the ordeal centred on his work as a journalist and human rights defender.
His attackers allegedly threatened to return and kill him if his assault is reported by the media. They subsequently abandoned him in a remote area.
After regaining consciousness, Boloetse managed to limp towards a nearby road, where he was rescued by a driver passing by. It was only then that he learned he had been dumped in Thaba- Bosiu.
Although Boloetse survived the attack, he remains deeply traumatised and in fear for his life.
