Brega Petroleum Marketing Company is claiming today that cities and regions across Libya have witnessed ”a noticeable reduction” in congestion at fuel stations.

This, the company says, coincides with increased daily supply rates, steady tanker movements and offloading operations, and enhanced distribution via the Misrata, Tobruk, and Zawiya depots.

However, there are still reports of long petrol queues at petrol stations in different parts of Libya. Many Libyans are asking where these volumes of fuel supplies are going. The public’s anger is even more apt in view of Brega saying last week the fuel crisis would be over in a week.

Supplies include over 7.21 million litres of petrol and 3.53 million litres of diesel distributed through the Misrata depot, alongside the transfer of more than 1.5 million litres of petrol to the Sabha depot to meet the needs of the southern region.

At the Tobruk depot, approximately 3.34 million litres of petrol and 590,000 litres of diesel were distributed to marketing companies. Meanwhile, the Zawia depot bolstered supply stocks by pumping petrol shipments toward Tripoli and the south, coinciding with the tanker GEA offloading over 36.36 million litres of diesel at the Zawia oil port.

Brega said the steady movement of tankers and the continuous operations of offloading, pumping, and distribution reflect the readiness of the supply system and the consistent flow of fuel, thereby reinforcing stability at service stations and ensuring citizens’ needs are met across all regions.
