No more flights to Prague or Berlin: which destinations are cut from airBaltic’s schedule

By Jonas Deveikis, LRT.lt.

Latvian airline airBaltic will offer 10 direct routes from Lithuania next summer, half as many as this summer, when it operated 22 routes, the company’s planned schedule shows.

The airline will drop flights from Vilnius to Berlin, Zurich, Krakow, Prague, Malaga, Nice, Mallorca, Heraklion and Chisinau. It will also end its Kaunas-Riga service and flights from Palanga to Tenerife.

Aviation expert Martynas Jaugelavičius says some of the discontinued routes are primarily holiday destinations and will not disappear entirely from Lithuania’s air travel map.

“Charter flights will continue to Mallorca and Heraklion, while Wizz Air will fly to Nice and Malaga,” Jaugelavičius notes.

He describes the loss of Berlin and Prague as a more significant setback.
