ZAMBIAN hip-hop group Zone Fam has reunited to release music together for the first time in more than a decade, ending a 12-year wait for fans of the celebrated quartet.

The group will release a new single, ‘One Fight’, on September 4, 2026, under Headphone Music. The track is produced by group member Jay Rox and accompanied by a music video directed by Lanzee Cooper.

It follows ‘Two Things’, the last single the group released in 2014.

All four members, Jay Rox, real name Jackson Ng’ambi; Sam Sakala, formerly known as Dope G; Reginald Lube, alias Yung Verbal; and Tim Chisenga, known as Tim shared teasers on their social media platforms this week, sparking excitement among fans.

Over the past 12 years, members pursued solo careers and other ventures. Sakala and Ng’ambi established themselves in television as an actor and producer respectively, while Lube became a media personality and podcast presenter.

In a joint statement, Zone Fam said the release presents an opportunity to reconnect with long-time supporters and introduce their music to a new generation.

“One Fight officially begins a new chapter for Zone Fam, reconnecting the group with long time supporters while introducing their music and legacy to a new generation of listeners,”the statement read.

The ‘Chikali’ hitmakers issued a defiant message of their return: “Twelve years later, Zone Fam are back. One group. One legacy. One Fight.”

Formed in Lusaka in 2009, Zone Fam rose to prominence with hits including ‘Shaka Zulu On Em’, ‘Translate’, ‘Chikali’ and ‘Contolola’.

Their debut album, The Business: Foreign Exchange, established their presence in Zambia and across the region. A 2012 deal with Kenya’s Taurus Musik further expanded their reach.

The group won Best Group at the Channel O Music Video Awards for ‘Contolola’ and was recognised as Best African Group at the Global African Music Awards.
