Athletes from Kyrgyzstan won five gold medals and one silver medal in tayak tartysh (mas-wrestling) competitions at the 6th World Nomad Games.
The events took place on September 1–2 with participation of 79 athletes from 25 countries. Athletes competed in three men’s and three women’s weight categories.
In the women’s under-55 kg category, Dilbara Imkanova from Kyrgyzstan took first place. Leyla Shagisultanova from Russia took second place, while Courtney Lynn Hollihan (Canada) and Munkhtuya Anudari (Mongolia) won bronze medals.
Eldana Bolotbekova from Kyrgyzstan won gold in the under-75 kg category. Damdinsuren Baasansuren from Mongolia took silver, and Charoskhon Yermanova (Uzbekistan) and Saina Sedalishcheva (Russia) took third places.
Adel Madanbaeva from Kyrgyzstan won in over-75 kg category. Bayantugs Erdenetuya from Mongolia took second place, while Iqra Naseeb (Pakistan) and Farahaninia Maryam (Iran) claimed bronze.
Among the men, Aziz Asanov from Kyrgyzstan won in the under-70 kg category. Arian Grigoriev from Russia took second place, and Tserentsogzol Purevsuren (Mongolia) and Lazizbek Abdurokhmonov (Uzbekistan) won bronze.
Baisal Asanov from Kyrgyzstan won gold in the under-90 kg category, while Vasily Zakharov from Russia took silver. Nursultan Yessimbay from Kazakhstan and Muhammad Asim from Pakistan took third place.
Reza Gheitasi from Iran won in the over-90-kilogram category. Keldibek Atabek uulu from Kyrgyzstan took second place. Bronze medals went to Jeffrey Louis Martens from Canada and Denis Fedorov from Russia.
The winners were awarded 50,000 soms each, the silver medalists 40,000 soms, and the bronze medalists 15,000 soms.
