Indonesian Men’s Basketball Team Prepares for the 2026 Asian Games – ObserverID

Jakarta, IO – There’s no long break for the Indonesian Men’s National Basketball Team. After competing in the 2029 FIBA Asia Cup Pre-qualifiers in Seramban, Malaysia, from August 28-31, 2026, they immediately began preparations for the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games. Preparations have been centered at the ROAR Performance Center in Kemang, South Jakarta, since September 2, 2026.

This training camp was attended by almost all the players who previously competed in the 2029 FIBA Asia Cup Pre-Qualifiers. They trained alongside four players previously on the special call-up list for the 2026 Asian Games: Brandon Jawato, Lester Prosper, Abraham Damar Grahita, and Andakara Prastawa.

At the 2026 Asian Games, Indonesia is in Pool A, where they will compete starting September 10, 2026, against host Japan, South Korea, and Saudi Arabia.

Regarding the list of 12 players circulating in the media, purportedly the roster for the Men’s National Basketball Team, Jeremy Imanuel Santoso, Managing Director of the National Team Body (BTN) of the Indonesian Basketball Association (PERBASI), responded.

“I would like to convey that the data recently uploaded to an online media outlet, sourced from the official Asian Games website, is not the most recent data,” Jeremy explained.

“The uploaded data is based on the long list we previously provided to the Asian Games. Once again, that is the long list we sent to the Asian Games. However, that list is not the 12 players who will appear in the Asian Games, nor is it the final 12-player lineup currently circulating,” Jeremy continued.

“We will publish the 12 players who will compete in the Asian Games in the next five days,” he said.

“We have been undertaking the process of determining the 12 players for the past two weeks. However, the process of finalizing the 12 players, including replacing one player with another, requires a gradual administrative process with the Asian Games Committee,” Jeremy added.

“So, they’ve only just released the names we sent them about a month and a half ago. These names are a longlist and not the final 12 players who will be going to the Asian Games,” said Jeremy.

The circulating list includes Ali Bagir Alhadar, Jerome Anthony Beane, Marques Terrell Bolden, Andakara Prastawa, Dame Diagne, Rio Disi, Abraham Damar, Brandon Jawato, Lester Prosper, Yudha Saputera, Jordan Charles Williams, and Derrick Michael Xzavierro. (rp)
