INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Our September heat wave continues Friday, and perhaps even into Saturday for parts of the region. Some showers & storms are possible over the coming days, but coverage and timing remain uncertain.

THURSDAY NIGHT:
Fair skies, warm, muggy. A stray storm can’t be ruled out, but model trends now suggest a reasonably quiet night for Central Indiana.

FRIDAY:
Another hot & humid day is in store with highs in the mid 90s and heat indices in the 100s. A HEAT ADVISORY continues through at least 8 PM for Central Indiana. There could be a few storms around at some point, but confidence remains low. The more activity storm track could stay to the northeast of Central Indiana. Plan on a warm evening for high school football and the Purdue game in West Lafayette.

FRIDAY NIGHT:
Warm and muggy with lows in the 70s. A few showers & storms are possible.

SATURDAY:
Partly cloudy, warm, & humid. Highs will range from the mid 80s northeast of Indy to the low 90s farther southwest. Some rain and storms could occur during the day. Let’s hope for the best for the Indiana game in Bloomington.

SUNDAY-LABOR DAY:
Partly cloudy and drier conditions settle in for a few days. It’ll remain seasonably warm with highs in the 80s and lows in the 60s.

MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK:
Temperatures are now expected to warm up into the 90s again with muggy overnight lows in the 70s. Some additional showers & storms could occur Wednesday into Thursday.
