Annapurna Studios-backed Telugu rural comedy Pallaburusu, which hit theatres on August 14, 2026, without much promotional buzz, is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video. The theatrical-to-OTT window is less than three weeks. Interestingly, the film is also available in Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam, helping it reach a wider audience.

Headlined by Sudhakar Reddy and Muralidhar Goud, the film marks Uday Chauhan’s feature directorial debut. Set in rural Telangana, it follows an elderly father advised to use a toothbrush. When his financially strained son refuses to buy one, a petty argument escalates into a village dispute, police complaint and bizarre courtroom battle, exposing years of family resentment and the loneliness of ageing.

Pallaburusu underperformed theatrically, but the film could find a different spark on OTT. EPIC Studios also backed the film, which features Prajwal Yadma, Gomathy Reddy, Kiran Macha and others in supporting roles. Pawan Ch composed the music.
