INDIANAPOLIS — The combination of high temperatures in the mid-90s and oppressive humidity will make it feel like an oven every afternoon from Tuesday through Thursday. We won’t get much relief at night either, with temperatures only dropping into the mid-70s.

Tuesday: The Heat Builds

Tuesday afternoon kicks off this dangerous stretch. Temperatures will climb into the mid-90s by early afternoon, but the humidity will make conditions feel brutal. By 2 p.m., heat index values will likely range between 100 and 105 degrees.

Tuesday Night: Little Relief

Do not expect much cooling once the sun goes down. Overnight lows will only fall to around 75 degrees, with high humidity remaining.

Wednesday: Peak Heat Continues

Wednesday will be equally as hot, with highs in the mid 90s. With the moisture in the air, it will feel like 105 degrees again by mid-afternoon. The Heat Advisory remains in effect all day.

Thursday:

Thursday brings more of the same oppressive heat before relief arrives. Expect another day with highs in the mid-90s and heat index values between 100 and 105 degrees. The Heat Advisory continues through Thursday evening.

7-Day Forecast:

Some relief comes with a cold front dragging south for Friday and Saturday, which could provide a few showers and storms heading into the start of the holiday weekend. A few stronger storms on Friday can’t be ruled out, but it’s too early to be certain at this point.

Highs will fall back to the mid 80s for the back half of the holiday weekend.
