POLICE have dismissed claims circulating on social media that Central Police Station was sealed following investigations into alleged treason involving former NRPUP presidential candidate Brian Mundubile and his running mate Makebi Zulu.

Police spokesperson Godfrey Chilabi said the reports that lawyers had been denied access to the two suspects are false.

“Members of the public are coming to report and seek police services from here. I am just coming from the process, and I can confirm that I have met the lawyers. They denied the assertion that they have been denied access to their clients. They have had ample time meeting their clients.

We wish to categorically refute the assertion trending on social media that the persons in custody have been denied access to their lawyers,” Mr Chilabi said.

He added that all persons in custody are accorded their full rights, including access to lawyers and communication with families.

Mr Chilabi further confirmed that Central Police Station remains open and fully operational.

Mr Chilabi said investigations into the alleged treason have advanced, with individuals linked to the matter being jointly interviewed as the probe continues.
