Jakarta, IO – The much-anticipated LaLaLa Festival 2026 wrapped up spectacularly on Sunday night, August 23, ending two unforgettable days of music. Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) Kemayoran was mystically transformed into a buzzing hub of music and excitement, drawing tens of thousands of Gen Z and millennial festivalgoers.
With stunning visuals, worldclass sound, and an exciting lineup of international and local acts, LaLaLa Fest delivered a lasting festival experience that was as immersive as it was entertaining.
From the gates opening at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 22, crowds quickly poured into the venue. The energy was palpable across the festival’s four main stages: LaLaLa Stage, Karma Stage, Bloom Stage, and Talking Stage. Immersive installations and dazzling lighting added a cinematic touch, making the entire weekend feel like a feast for the senses.
A Surprise Massive Karaoke Party
Day one offered a sweet mix of sounds and surprises. Over at Karma Stage, American indie-pop duo Summer Salt got the afternoon rolling with their catchy, easy-listening tunes. The event got more exciting when neo-soul singer Jordan Rakei took the stage with an intimate and captivating set.
Meanwhile, the main LaLaLa Stage set a romantic, melancholic mood with Matt Maltese before Norwegian pop star Astrid S brought a burst of energy to the crowd.
The first night hit its peak just before midnight. LaLaLa Stage turned into a giant karaoke party when legendary American experimental rock band The Flaming Lips unleashed their wild performance, complete with confetti. The energy continued to Rex Orange County’s set, sending fans into a frenzy.
Thousands of audiences joined in on every lyric before a spectacular fireworks display ended the first fantastic night.
Indie Power and a Magical Steve Lacy Finale
Even on Sunday, the crowd’s energy did not show signs of slowing down. Alternative stages Bloom and Talking became showcases for the thriving Indonesian indie scene, with performances by L’ALPHALPHA, Mad Madmen, and KIKI all competing to be the most magnificent local act.
Karma Stage took on a more emotional, nostalgic mood later in the day. Irish singer Dermot Kennedy captivated the crowd with his distinctive baritone before Scottish indie-rock band Two Door Cinema Club kicked things up with their high-energy performance. The area in front of the stage quickly filled up, with fans cheering and singing along.
Over at LaLaLa Stage, British electronic-pop duo HONNE brought the crowd to life with their beloved hits. The atmosphere turned both intimate as fans sang along to favorites including Location Unknown and Day 1.

Then, the moment everyone had been waiting for: Grammy-winning, genre-bending artist Steve Lacy took over the main stage. Lacy’s unmistakable style captivated the entire JIExpo crowd. As his global hits rang out, thousands of voices created a magical finale to an unforgettable weekend.
