The Fitness Compound comes to Marysville Town Center in November

MARYSVILLE — For visitors wondering what tenant was behind the former Rite Aid’s black and red transformation at the Marysville Town Center, the answer is a fitness center set to open mid-November.

Following its 2024 opening in Bothell, The Fitness Compound is getting ready for a second location, this time within the Marysville shopping center, located near the intersection of Fourth Street and State Avenue.

At 22,484 square feet, the newest location is double the size of its Bothell predecessor. With the extra space, the Marysville gym has room for amenities such as a Kids Club, dedicated space for group classes and a coffee bar, said Adrienne Blythe-Clark, assistant regional director for the Fitness Compound in an email.

“We’re able to offer everything we already do — personal training, online nutrition and workout coaching — plus a lot more,” she said. “That includes 1,400 square feet of turf, a red-light sauna, and private showers.”

The gym uses 100% Panatta equipment, an Italian gym equipment manufacturer, and plans to offer the brand’s latest line of machines in the new space. Why Panatta?

“The machines are engineered so the resistance follows the natural arc of the movement,” Blythe-Clark said. “Loading the target muscle properly while keeping joints happy throughout the range of motion.”

The Marysville gym is the second step in a three-part plan. Following the Bothell and Marysville locations, the company plans to launch a gym in Bellevue, Blythe-Clark said.

“We wanted to build a space where women feel safe, where there’s a real sense of community, and to create the best independent gym on the West Coast,” she said.

The Fitness Compound is not the only new attraction coming to the shopping center. Urban Air Adventure Park, an indoor trampoline playground, will move into the former Big Lots! storefront, said Angela Gemmer, Marysville’s interim community development director, in an email.

The 44,482-square-foot space will feature activities such as go-karts, a cafe and party rooms, according to planning documents.

The city also received a proposal for an 8,990-square-foot Water Wings Swim School, Gemmer said.

Currently, the Marysville Town Center is home to multiple retail chains, such as Staples, Burlington, JCPenney and more.
