Queen Camila honors Dolly Parton’s legacy

Dolly Parton is being honoured by Queen Camilla after her death on August 25, 2026, in Nashville, Tennessee.

Via official Instagram handle of the Queen’s Reading Roon,  Her Majesty the Queen paid a heartfelt tribute to the legendary country singer.

Addressing Dolly’s legacy, which went far beyond music and her notable services and contributions to children’s literacy, Queen Camilla wrote, “Today we remember and celebrate the unwavering advocate for the joy and importance of reading — the icon, Dolly Parton.”

Recalling Dolly’s own words and highlighting the singer-songwriter’s remarkable efforts, the post further reads, “Dolly once said, ‘You can never get enough books into the hands of enough children’… but she gave it a pretty good go, donating more than 300 million books over 30+ years through her imagination library.”

It continued, “By putting so many books into the hands of so many children, she gave the most precious of gifts: the chance to millions of young minds of opening the door to imagination, possibility, and a lifelong love of reading.”

The tribute concluded on a thank-you note, stating, ” Thank you, Dolly!”
