The Governor of Western Equatoria State Badagbu Daniel Rimbasa has ordered the recruitment of 100 young people from each county for police training to strengthen community policing and security.

Governor Rimbasa said the recruitment is urgently needed to address a shortage of police officers and replace ageing personnel.

He said the new officers will help maintain peace, protect people and their property, and improve security across the state, including along its borders.

“We want every county to bring 100 police for the training centre we have here, so that we can be able to have security in our areas,” Rimbasa said.

The governor said the recruitment is part of plans to integrate forces and ensure communities have adequate security personnel.

He urged county commissioners and local leaders to submit lists of recruits without delay and ensure they are properly verified before training begins.

Rimbasa said the timely submission of the recruits is necessary to allow the training to start as planned.
