PHOENIX — A 14-year-old boy is in life-threatening condition after he was hit by a vehicle while walking in a crosswalk in north Phoenix Saturday night, according to Phoenix police.

Officers and fire crews were called around 7:30 p.m. to the area of 35th Avenue and Dunlap Avenue for a crash involving a pedestrian.

Police said witnesses reported the teen was walking in the crosswalk when he was hit by an adult male driver traveling south on 35th Avenue.

Firefighters took the teen to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver stayed at the scene and was not hurt. A Drug Recognition Expert evaluated him and found no signs of impairment, according to police.
