MINOT (NewsDakota)- It was looking for all the world as though the Jamestown Blue Jays would drop their third match in four to start the season on Thursday.

Enter Grady Eckert.

The senior midfielder struck with eight seconds remaining to earn Jamestown (0-2-2) a 2-2 draw with Minot North at Sentinel Stadium in the Magic City.

In the final minute of the first half, the Sentinels (3-0-1, 2-0-1 WDA) took the lead through the first of two goals by Logan Ovitt, but the Jays equalized three minutes after the interval as Noah Lorenz tied it at 1.  After Ovitt restored Minot North’s lead with just three minutes left, Eckert scored with the last meaningful kick of the match.

Evan Harty was spectacular in goal, registering 16 saves in the match for Jamestown, who return home against Dickinson on Tuesday at Rotary Field.
