HOUSTON — Las Vegas Raiders cornerback Chigozie Anusiem was taken from the Reliant Stadium field on a cart early in the third quarter of the preseason game against the Houston Texans.
The third-year pro was signed by the Raiders off the Arizona Cardinals practice squad in December and spent the final few weeks of the 2025 season on the roster.
He has been battling for a roster spot during training camp and appeared to injure his knee while covering a punt. The Raiders ruled him out for the remainder of the game almost immediately.
Anusiem had a towel over his head and was emotional as the entire Raiders team came out on the field while he was loaded onto the cart.
Linebacker Buddy Johnson was already questionable to return with a shoulder injury suffered during the first half.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
