No M400,000 was received by Honourable Minister Nthati Moorosi, the family or the campaign.
Honourable Minister Nthati Moorosi is not part of the team that manages campaign finances or
donation channels.
The M1.3 million figure incorrectly combined funds received with outstanding pledges.
MASERU, LESOTHO – 18 AUGUST 2026
The Help Nnete Heal Campaign notes the public concern and media discussion concerning an anticipated M400,000 contribution and the previously reported M1.3 million total. The campaign is issuing this clarification to prevent inaccurate conclusions and ensure that the public record reflects verified information.
Clarification concerning Honourable Minister Nthati Moorosi Honourable Minister Nthati Moorosi is not a member of the team responsible for campaign finances and has nocontrol over the campaign’s donation channels. She relayed information made available to her at the time concerning an anticipated contribution. That information had not been verified through the campaign’s financial process, and the contribution did not materialise.
No M400,000 was received by Honourable Minister Nthati Moorosi, the family or the campaign.
This distinction is important: an unverified communication is not evidence that she received or used money, deliberately misled the public, or engaged in financial misconduct.
Clarification of the M1.3 million figure
The previously reported M1.3 million total mistakenly combined funds actually received with pledges that had not yet been fulfilled. It was therefore not an accurate statement of the amount received. The campaign regrets this reporting error and the confusion it caused.
All official donation channels and relevant transaction records are being reconciled.
A corrected financial update will be published on Thursday, 20 August 2026, showing the verified amount received and outstanding pledges separately. Until then, the public and media are respectfully asked not to report M1.3 million as the amount received or associate the M400,000 with receipt or misuse by any individual.
Commitment to verified communication
The campaign recognises the public’s legitimate expectation of accurate information. Going forward, financial figures will be communicated only after verification against official records and through the campaign’s authorised channels.
We apologise for the confusion and thank the public, donors and media for their patience while this process is completed.
