Almost a year to the day after the appearance of Paddy Byrne and his men at Chianti Park and Hillsbrook in the pleasant foothills of the Dublin mountains at Brittas, the court-ordered demolition of the unauthorised structures began on Monday morning. 

Albeit slowly. Work on the site so far has been described to me by one local person as moving bricks and other leftover materials and debris around, but Rome wasn’t torn down in a day. It is worth pointing out that, contrary to one media source, the units are not modular homes as if they were they could be removed as intact units. These are designed to be permanent structures hence, the need to demolish them.
