Father and child killed in car accident in Tashkent region

AKIPRESS.COM – A video of a traffic accident in Tashkent region was posted on social media. The footage shows a Cobalt attempting to overtake a Spark on a two-lane road and forcing it into oncoming traffic. The Spark then veers to the edge of the road and overturns. The Cobalt driver continues driving without stopping, Gazeta.uz reported.

The Tashkent region police department said that the accident occurred on the Korasuv-Buka-Bekabad highway around 9:30 AM on August 15. The Cobalt driver was identified as 30-year-old Kh. A. He was detained.

The “Millar” program on the Miliy TV channel reported that a 39-year-old man and his five-year-old child, who were in the Spark, were killed in the accident. Another woman was hospitalized.

A criminal case has been opened on violation of traffic safety rules resulting in human casualties.
