Two people are at risk of dying after a motorcycle crash in Attard this afternoon.

Police said the accident happened at around 4.30pm on Triq l-Imdina.

Preliminary investigations found that a 26-year-old Italian man, who lives in San Ġwann, lost control of his motorcycle and fell.

A woman, whose identity has not yet been established, was travelling as a passenger on the motorcycle at the time of the accident.

A medical team was called to the scene and both individuals were taken to Mater Dei Hospital for treatment.

They were later certified as suffering from serious injuries.

Magistrate Renata Farrugia has launched an inquiry while police investigations are ongoing.
