KANSAS CITY – The NFL preseason continues with the Kansas City Chiefs hosting the Los Angeles Rams today – Saturday, Aug. 15 – at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. This preseason game is available to watch on multiple streaming platforms.
This game will broadcast live on NFL Network, NBC41 (Kansas City) and ABC7 (Los Angeles) at 4 p.m. Eastern (3 p.m. Central). The Rams enter the preseason as Super Bowl favorites and are looking to solidify their second and third-string lineups in the three-game preseason slate. Most of the starters will not play.
Much of the attention will center on the quarterback position. Rams head coach Sean McVay has indicated that young quarterbacks, including starter Stetson Bennett and rookie Ty Simpson, are expected to see significant playing time as Los Angeles evaluates its future options behind defending NFL MVP Matthew Stafford.
Rookie receiver CJ Daniels has turned heads with a surging work ethic and reliable hands. He has primarily worked with the backups and figures to get plenty of playing time this preseason.
Cornerback Cam Lampkin has been a pleasant surprise in camp. The intensity will be cranked up but the blueprint is there for the rising third-year player. He has snagged a handful of pass breakups and an interception.
Two-time Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett, who was traded from the Browns for edge Jared Verse, will not play. He is also dealing with a minor knee swelling and lower body soreness.

The Chiefs will balance reps with caution as they navigate the three-game preseason slate.
With Mahomes sidelined (ACL and LCL recovery), quarterback Justin Fields will get the preseason start for Kansas City. Garrett Nussmeier will follow before fourth-string QB Chris Oladokun mops up the remainder of the contest.
Head coach Andy Reid has said it is unlikely that the main starters will play in this matchup. That means running back Kenneth Walker, tight end Travis Kelce and receivers Xavier Worthy and Rashee Rice will be perched on the sideline. Reid didn’t completely rule out a brief appearance from the stars.
Linebackers Jack Cochrane and Jeffrey Basa will shoulder much of the load up the middle with Drue Tranquill still dealing with back spasms.
One of the more fascinating players in this game will be wide receiver Jacob De Jesus, who is battling for a spot on the 53-man roster. He will likely need to string together a masterful preseason to secure a spot. Having extra opportunities on special teams will help that cause.
After earning some buzz in camp, undrafted offensive lineman Kahlil Benson will have plenty of opportunities to show he belongs on the opening game roster.
