JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Caregivers, families and friends gathered Aug. 11 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center (JRMC) to remember loved ones during a hospice memorial service. Attendees came together to honor and reflect on those who have passed and concluded with the planting of a maple tree in JRMC’s Kornovich Healing Gardens.
Members of JRMC Home Health and Hospice, including chaplains, social workers and nurses, spoke during the ceremony. They offered reflections, memories and words of support to those in attendance.
“One of the greatest misconceptions about hospice is that it is where people go to die, but hospice is much more than that,” said registered nurse Chelsey Duffy. “Hospice is about living every remaining moment with comfort, dignity, peace and love. It is about making sure no one walks this journey alone.”
The newly planted maple tree will serve as a living tribute to those remembered during the service, representing both remembrance and renewal.
“Grief is a deeply personal journey, but there is comfort in knowing that we do not have to walk it alone,” said Kyla Stoltz, JRMC Home Health and Hospice manager. “This service reflects the heart of JRMC Hospice — to provide compassionate support, not only to patients and their families during the end-of-life journey, but also to continue walking alongside them through grief and remembrance.”
JRMC Hospice serves individuals and their loved ones throughout the region, providing compassionate care and support throughout the end-of-life journey. The hospice team also addresses the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of patients and their support systems.
