The third round of registration for entrance examinations to universities and colleges in Tajikistan will run from August 29 to September 10, the National Testing Center has announced.

The following categories of applicants will be eligible to register:

• those who did not register during the first or second registration periods;
• those who registered during the first or second rounds but did not take the entrance examinations;
• those who took part in the first or second rounds of examinations but were not selected for admission;
• applicants who passed the main, repeat or additional repeat selection rounds but failed to appear for enrollment at the relevant educational institution;
• applicants who successfully competed for places in medical specialties but were unable to enroll because of illness.

During the third registration round, applicants will only be able to choose specialties where places remain vacant after the main, repeat and additional repeat admission rounds.

Applicants may select up to 12 specialties within one specialty group.

The National Testing Center plans to publish the list of available specialties on its website after the previous admission rounds are completed, tentatively after August 17.

How much does registration cost?

The registration fee is 370 somoni for graduates of Grade 11 and graduates of primary and secondary vocational education institutions.

For Grade 9 graduates, the fee is 320 somoni.

Applicants who make changes during re-registration will be charged an additional 30 somoni.

The third-round entrance examinations are scheduled for September 20, with the results expected to be announced on September 25.

This year, Tajikistan’s universities and colleges have a total admission quota of 74,510 students, an increase of 10,154 places compared with last year.

Of the total, 13,276 places are state-funded, while 61,234 are tuition-based.

Following the first admission round, 67% of the overall enrollment target had been filled.
