For the Catholics of Port Moresby and PNG, the Marian Year ended yesterday.

Some 15,000 Catholics braved the city’s hot sun at the OTC oval to participate in the Mass being said by the Archbishop of Port Moresby, Sir Peter Kurongku.

In the past 12 months, Catholics have been holding special devotions dedicated to Mary, the mother of Jesus.

Pope John Paul 2, declared on June 7 last year a special year to remember the mother of Jesus.
