A man died early Tuesday after being attacked by two dogs in Opelousas, according to police.
Investigators with the Opelousas Police Department were called at 12:02 a.m. to the 600 block of S. Court Street, where officers found an unresponsive man in the street.
Paramedics performed life-saving measures, but the man could not be revived.
Investigators determined the man had been attacked by two dogs belonging to Kimberly Faulk, police said.
Faulk was arrested following the investigation and booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail on two counts of unlawful restraint of a dog and one count of negligent homicide.
Police have not released the victim’s identity pending notification of his immediate family.
