The St. Lucia Association of Georgia awarded three scholarships to students from schools across the island who excelled in their recent examinations. The Association divided the country’s schools into three zones – North, Central, and South and selected one school from each zone; Grand Rivière Primary School, Blanchard Combined School and Augier Combined School. Each principal from the schools selected was then asked to identify a deserving student in need who also demonstrated strong academic performance.

The selected students each received a backpack with school supplies along with EC$1,000. In addition, one of the three students will be considered for a four-year scholarship, contingent upon maintaining good grades at the end of their first year in secondary school.

The Association also extended support to two other students who recently lost their parents, providing each with a backpack of school supplies and EC$500 to their guardian to help cover essential school-related expenses.

Dr. Venus Chery from Rise St. Lucia charitable organization was also presented with hygiene packages for the under privileged students.
