All public schools, that is Ece, elementary and high schools will begin the new school yer on August 24th. Department of education officials led by Deputy Director Dr Lance Glodowski were guests on the Morning HSow yesterday to share information about preparations for the beginning of the new school year. Aboput 80 new teachers are attending a teacher orientation that’s underway this week. Registration of new students is being held at the Student Services Office at the Doe Main Office in Utulei, Returning elementary students register at there school. If theres a change of school, registration takes place at the new school. For high schools., returning students have to register at their respective schools. Assist Director for Secondary Education Sofai Tuatoo explains.

Parents with children who were in ECE last year and ready to enter kindergarten are also urged to register their children now and not wait for the first day of school to do so.

Starting September 9, elementary and high schools will have early release every Wednesday for staff professional development.
