Theodore Brenden Ruszas, known to his friends as “Ted,” went home to be with Elizabeth (“Liz”) on July 31, 2026.

Ted was born in Albany, N.Y., on June 4, 1942, and lived as a longtime resident of Burlington and Underhill Center, Vt.

Ted served in the U.S. Air Force before beginning a career with General Electric/General Dynamics. Ted retired from General Dynamics in 2001.

Ted’s commitments to community service included the Boy Scouts of America and the Free and Accepted Masons.

Ted served as a leader and Scoutmaster for troops in South Burlington and St. Albans for 24 years, between 1961 and 1985.

Ted also served as a member of the Mount Mansfield Masons Lodge #26 in Jericho, Vt.

A memorial service for Ted has not been planned at this time.
