The Deans Under-18 competition is living up to its reputation for producing surprises, with 2026 shaping up as a year of upsets.

Ra High School delivered the first major shock at Garvey Park in Tavua, edging defending powerhouse Ratu Kadavulevu School 12–10 to book their place in the semi-finals.

Nasinu Secondary School followed suit, defeating Cuvu College 28–24 in another tightly contested quarter-final at Garvey Park.

Lelean Memorial School also secured its place in the semi-finals after a convincing 26–5 win over Ratu Navula College.

Suva Grammar School completed the semi-final line-up with a 23–7 victory over Ratu Navula College.

With all four quarter-finals now completed, only one Western school remains in the competition, alongside two schools from the Central Division and one from the Eastern Division.

The race for the Deans U18 crown is wide open, with the semi-finalists now just two wins away from lifting the coveted title.
