Madeline Weed

Penacook, NH – Madeline L. Weed, 78, of Penacook, passed away peacefully at her home on August 4th, with her daughter, Melinda, and granddaughter, Madeline, by her side.

Madeline was born in Concord, New Hampshire, on July 3, 1948, to Valmore J. and Mildred (Muzzey) Lanoix.

She attended Penacook schools and graduated from Penacook High School in 1966.

Following graduation, Madeline fell in love with a handsome young man, Sibley Weed, from Potter Place, Andover, New Hampshire. They were married in 1968 and shared 47 wonderful years together. Together, they raised two children, Melinda and Michael.

For more than 20 years, Madeline worked as a legal secretary for the City of Concord Prosecutor’s Office. During her career and throughout her retirement, she enjoyed spending time with family and close friends, vacationing at York Beach, and hosting many gatherings at the “Weed” pool on West Main Street in Penacook.

Madeline is survived by her loving children: Melinda Harrison and husband, Robert; Michael, and wife, Kimberly. Her greatest love and joy were her three grandchildren: Brock R. Harrison, Madeline E. Harrison, and Kathryn J. Weed.

She is also survived by her three beloved sisters, Gail A. Groves, Linda M. Jewett (Robert), and Robin E. Jewett (Steven).

Madeline was dearly loved by her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, Valmore and Mildred Lanoix; her husband, Sibley H. Weed; her mother-in-law, Phyllis Weed; brother in-law, Dick Groves and her special nephew, Ricky Groves.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, August 11th, from 1-4 p.m at Bennett Funeral Home, 209 North Main St. in Concord. The Funeral will be held on Wednesday, August 12th, at 10 a.m at Christ the King Parish in Concord. Burial will be held on Thursday, August 13th, at the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in her honor to the residence fund at the John H. Whitaker Place, 30 Borough Rd, Penacook, NH 03303.
