Prov Swedish North Puget Sound CEO to oversee western Washington, Alaska operations

EVERETT — The current CEO of Providence Swedish North Puget Sound will become the CEO of Providence’s North Division later this month, Providence announced in a press release Wednesday.

Kristy Carrington has served as CEO of Providence Swedish North Puget Sound since 2022, overseeing Providence Regional Medical Center Everett, Swedish Edmonds and the Swedish Mill Creek Ambulatory Care Center.

“I am honored to be selected for this role and am excited about the opportunity to continue serving the Providence Mission in this new capacity,” Carrington said in the release. “I look forward to helping advance our 2030 strategic direction to be the best place to give and receive care.”

Starting Aug. 24, she will oversee operations in all of western Washington and Alaska. The position was previously held by Kevin Brooks, who is transitioning to a new role as chief executive of Providence Clinical Shared Services.

Carrington began working with Swedish in 2015 as director of acute care at Swedish First Hill. In 2018, she was promoted to chief nursing officer and later served in regional and divisional chief nursing roles. She previously served as director of nursing at Keck Medical Center at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.

Carrington has a Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Delaware and a Master of Business Administration from Pepperdine University. She is also a board member for the Future Workforce Alliance of Snohomish County.
