Daren Sammy Foundation grants $70,000 in scholarships

The Daren Sammy Foundation gave out $70,000 in scholarships as part of its annual drive this year. For the fourth year, the foundation worked with Republic Bank’s Power to Make A Difference programme to award 30 scholarships to students who excelled in both academics and sport.

The drive reflects the organisation’s belief in investing in what matters most: our children and their future. On his social media pages, foundation president and West Indies Cricket head coach Daren Sammy shared the following statement:

“Education remains one of the greatest tools for creating opportunity, building confidence, and shaping tomorrow’s leaders. At the Daren Sammy Foundation, our mission of Building Future Leaders, Future Champions continues through meaningful partnerships like this one. We extend our sincere thanks to Republic Bank for sharing our commitment to empowering young people and making a lasting impact in our communities.”

The funds will help support children’s education by covering tuition, textbooks, bags and uniforms.
