Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Iraq, Jordan, and Egypt highlighted on Wednesday the importance of activating the trilateral cooperation mechanism via specialized committees and enhancing coordination in the economic, investment, industrial, and energy sectors.

Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, and Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty met in Amman, the capital of Jordan, to discuss the trilateral cooperation mechanism.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the foreign ministers’ participation in the Arab ministerial meeting on Jerusalem, according to a statement released by the Iraqi Foreign Ministry.

The three parties agreed to activate the tripartite system through specialized technical committees and organize periodic discussions at various levels to monitor the progress of joint projects.

The three ministers reviewed cooperation in the energy sector, including oil and electricity interconnection projects, as well as measures to broaden partnerships in these areas to enhance economic integration and improve energy security.

The meeting addressed the latest developments in the region, particularly efforts to reopen the Strait of Hormuz to strengthen regional stability.

The foreign ministers highlighted the need to halt military operations, reduce tensions, and adopt diplomatic means to resolve crises in the region.
