PM directs early completion of arrangements as Egypt begins 2027 Hajj preparations

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly stressed that all state institutions are working in close coordination to provide the best possible services for Egyptian pilgrims during the upcoming Hajj season, while maintaining close cooperation with Saudi authorities to ensure smooth procedures and facilitate the performance of the pilgrimage rituals.

Chairing a meeting of the Higher Hajj Committee on Monday, August 3, 2026, to discuss regulations for the 1448 AH/2027 Hajj season, Madbouly called for the early completion of all administrative and technical preparations, including travel, accommodation and medical service arrangements.

The meeting was attended by Transport Minister Kamel al-Wazir, Social Solidarity Minister Maya Morsy, Civil Aviation Minister Sameh al-Hefny, senior Cabinet and Interior Ministry officials, while the ministers of health, tourism, foreign affairs, Awqaf and labor joined via video conference.

Madbouly said the meeting aimed to ensure effective coordination among all relevant authorities to guarantee full readiness and deliver high-quality services to Egyptian pilgrims.

During the meeting, Assistant Secretary General of the Cabinet Tarek Abdel Razek reviewed an assessment of the 1447 AH Hajj season, including the distribution of Egypt’s pilgrimage visa quota among the authorities concerned.

He highlighted several achievements, including Egypt’s Hajj Affairs Office receiving the Labaytum Silver Award for the first time.

He added that effective coordination between the Egyptian and Saudi authorities ensured that no Egyptian pilgrim remained outside the official Hajj system.

Abdel Razek also noted that a unified database of all Egyptian pilgrims was created through the Hajj Portal.
