Border Service of Kazakhstan prevents 1,808 cases of illegal fuel transportation across border in July
AKIPRESS.COM – The National Security Committee Border Service prevented 1,808 cases of illegal transportation of fuel and lubricants across the border of Kazakhstan in July. The total volume exceeded 150 tons, with a value of 33.4 million tenge, informburo.kz reported, citing the National Security Committee.
Compared to June, the number of such cases increased 2.6 times. Then, border guards recorded 708 cases of illegal transportation of over 45 tons of fuel and lubricants worth 13.6 million tenge. The volume of fuel more than tripled.
In July, border guards prevented 2,476 cases of illegal transportation of goods and cargo worth over 3.9 billion tenge. These included 39 facts of drug trafficking, 88 facts of weapons and ammunition trafficking, 392 cases of movement of consumer goods worth over 1.3 billion tenge, and 149 cases of movement of currency worth over 2.1 billion tenge.
Border guards seized 108 bladed weapons and 2,131 rounds of ammunition. 4,975 violators, including 4,346 foreign citizens, were detained in the border area in a month.
34 cases of poaching were prevented in the Caspian Sea. Border guards seized 24.6 km of illegal fishing gear and 103 sturgeon weighing a total of 580 kg. The prevented damage exceeded 251 million tenge.
The Border Service has opened 63 criminal cases. An additional 4,295 administrative cases are pending, with fines totaling over 38 million tenge.
